Eurosiberian alderwood
The wet parts of the woods were covered by grey alder (Alnus glutinosa) forests. Ditching has significantly reduced wetlands everywhere. Man-made structures have a shorter lifespan than trees. By this, in some parts, wetlands could slowly come back due to a lack of drainage system maintenance.
