Water is a responsibility.. We are located almost at the top of watershed, and we have forest all around us. There are running water exiting from the farm for about 7 months per year. On our local ditch system, we have created a sedimentation pool network to keep fertility up and prevent eutrophication downstream.
We have heavy clay soil on calcareous bedrock. We are learning how to enrich the soil for successful tree cultivation on former meadows.
